Before you compare quotes
- Ask each crew for proof of liability insurance and workers compensation. If a climber is hurt on your property and the company has neither, the claim can land on your homeowners policy.
- Check whether the price includes grinding the stump, hauling the logs and chipping the brush. That is where quotes most often differ.
- Never pay in full up front. A deposit is normal; the balance is due on completion.
